Barrow Church is a place of welcome, sanctuary and peace where generations of people from our village have worshipped God. As part of our care and concern for one another, during the outbreak of COVID-19, we are introducing Social Distancing Measures to the church building. This is so those who wish to visit the church to pray or to attend services can do so with confidence that the risk of infection has been appropriately minimised. The social distancing measures follow advice from the government and the Church of England.

Visiting our Church:

Please enter church through the door to the Crèche. Hand sanitiser will be available for you to use as you enter. Following Government advice, please wear a face covering or mask whilst you are in the building. As you enter, your name and contact details will be recorded. This is to help support test and trace work and will be destroyed after 21 days.

We have introduced a one-way system round the church which is clearly displayed by floor markings. A sidesperson will direct you where to sit. Please only sit on the seats with green cards on them.

When you leave the church, please turn your seat card over from green to red and leave it on the seat. Please let those nearest the main door leave first. Please use the hand sanitiser in the porch as you leave.

Changes to our Services

  • Cleaning requirements mean that it is only possible to hold one service per day in the church. When Sunday services resume, this will be our 10am service.
  • We will not be able to sing as part of our services in church, although we will listen to pre-recorded music.
  • To maintain social distancing, we will not take a collection during the service. You can leave your offering in the box or plate on the sidesperson’s table on the way in, or in the porch on your way out.
  • Cleaning requirements mean that the toilet will unfortunately need to be kept closed.
  • No refreshments will be served after services.
